Bag layout: separate clean, wet and sharp items

A clear arrangement helps the practical part of an outing remain straightforward.

Give items a role

Group equipment by use, not by how attractive it looks together. Protect sharp components and keep them away from loose personal belongings. A dedicated place makes inspection and packing easier. Do not leave exposed tackle where another person may reach without seeing it.

Leave a clear surface

Choose where equipment will be set down before unpacking. Avoid spreading belongings across a shared path. Keep what is not needed packed away. Organising a bag should reduce distraction, not encourage bringing every possible item to the shoreline.

Review one detail

After the outing, note what was difficult to find or keep separate. Change one part of the layout and test it next time. A familiar arrangement is often more useful than repeatedly buying storage pieces without understanding the problem they are meant to solve.
