Follow care instructions
Check the equipment and follow the manufacturer’s cleaning and storage guidance. Do not hide a problem in the bag until the next trip. Keep used items separate while dealing with them. A routine should fit the actual kit rather than an imagined ideal collection.
Restock with a reason
Replace what was used and remove things that served no purpose. Before adding another item, name the task it will solve. A smaller familiar kit can be easier to manage than a growing collection of equipment chosen from unrelated recommendations.
Keep one note
Save the date, relevant conditions and a concrete preparation detail. Do not reconstruct precise measurements from a vague memory. The shore notebook becomes useful through consistent context and small improvements, not through impressive claims about every session.
